History
Shipbuilding company formally established in 1911 but able to trace its origins back to a marine repair shop created in 1892. The company became a major shipbuilder of commercial vessels and warships including submarines (the two submarines built for Chile and acquired by Canada in 1914 were also built by the yard), and whaling vessels. In 1918, it was acquired by Todd Corporation and operated as Todd Pacific Shipyards. Todd Pacific Shipyard was acquired by Vigor Industrial in 2011 and now operates as Vigor Shipyards.
